Tips for Practicing towards the Ensemble Festival Any questions about how to practice with these videos? Please feel free to contact me, Yoko Amano, from here.
Rhythm is a MUST! Make sure you prioritize Rhythm over anything else!
Practice with the part you are going to play. Do one hand at a time if needed.
NOT PLAYING the measures you have trouble is better than struggling with wrong notes.
Make sure you can STOP and JOIN IN from where the video is playing.
Once you can play along with your own part, Practice with your partner's part.
Then, Practice with the Combined video(s).
Don't forget to Look at the Conductor at the Festival!!
Note to Participating Teachers: Please send the link to this website to all participating students so that everyone can practice playing along. Please also have the participants practice with these videos during lesson time so you can check their progress. Thank you!
